No Motivation

Ah. NaNoWriMo is almost out the door, but my novel is certainly not.

In fact I haven't addressed my dear characters in over two months and am beginning to lose some hope. I feel so tired in the evenings to sit down and gather my thoughts. Even as we speak my eyelids are closing and only my fingers are tapping away with certainty.

What can I do to motivate myself? Any tips or suggestions would be GREATLY welcomed!

i have a maxim when it comes to writing; give me a week and I'll take it, give me a deadline, I'll meet it. It's really all about attitude. i have three young children and spend a lot of time catering to their needs. I get tired and sometimes I think i have embarked on an uphill struggle, but i remain optimistic that I can fulfill any obligations i have made. sometimes I just have to say ' that's not do-able and leave it at that. perhaps you could be a little more sympathetic to your own needs than driven by something outside yourself. I honestly think that sometimes we can really ask too much of ourselves, and feel disappointed when we fall short. to hell with it. You have your whole life ahead of you, i'm sure you'll be able to fit most of your dreams into it.

    Regards.

  2. Thank you Knight in Shining armour - I never thought to be more sympathetic as it may actually give me the motivation to continue. Your words are wonderful. Thank you!
